I STARTED CERAMICS AT 45+, AFTER A CAREER IN THE CORPORATE WORLD. I WAS BOTH CHALLENGED AND INSPIRED BY ITS TECHNICAL COMPLEXITY.

I learned this craft taking daytime and evening ceramic’s classes while taking care of my elderly father.

Five years later, on the spur of the moment, I made the terrifying but exhilarating decision to buy Zelda. A secondhand but good-as-new kiln, sold by owners who were too intimidated by its size. I was now equipped to start my own home studio. Zelda, due to its size, was delivered by crane and had to stay out on my balcony. Inside, I reorganized my apartment and a proper sculpting tripod made an appearance. Suddenly, I felt very artsy!

Another five years on, and the home studio was too messy and feeling too poky to get anything done. So, I joined a friend in renting a large studio space. Sadly, Zelda had to stay put on the balcony, as the entrance to the new studio was too narrow. To be operational, Mini-Zelda joined the team. After two years of great fun and work, we all got kicked out.

I then spent a year building ‘Ceci n’est pas une céramique’, my very own brand-new studio. With yes, a very wide entrance door! End of 2019, Zelda, Mini-Zelda and I, finally moved to our new location.

YOU’RE MOST WELCOME TO VISIT!

You might bump into Ion, a master ceramist from Moldova, who joins me in the studio whenever he’s not delivering post and his wife lets him.

Sidonie, our studio mascot will welcome you too. She is the smallest, brightest and most adorable miniature Dachshund ever.
